University of Nairobi
In May 2012 TCA was contracted to train University of Nairobi staff members on Risk Management. The training aimed to provide staff with a thorough introduction to sources of risk and describe the tools, techniques, systems, processes and strategies necessary for managing risk at the University. The training also focused on the critical importance of personal skills in implementing effective risk management and the need for commitment from all levels of staff within the university.
Kenya Revenue Authority
TCA has over the years has provided training services to Kenya Revenue Authority. Our firm has facilitated a number of staff teambuilding retreats. The retreats were structured around achieving improved customer service delivery, communication, protocol and public relations; improved social responsibility through sensitization on stigmatization, alcohol and drug abuse.
Airtel Uganda and TCA have had a professional relationship since 2010. TCA has mounted training courses for Airtel managers in Kampala on call centre training, logistics and supply chain management and supplier negotiations.
Africa Population and Health Research Center
TCA facilitated one day training for APHRC on policy engagement and communication 101 and undertaking public policy making and communication. Also, TCA facilitated an annual retreat for APHRC’s policy engagement team.
TCA is one of the training providers for Safaricom and has trained a number of staff. Last year TCA mounted a successful training on contract management for the telecommunications leader. The course covered contract negotiation, terms and conditions in contracts and international contracting.
In early 2013, TCA was engaged by K-Rep Bank to undertake the Board Effectiveness Review for the ended year 2012. The firm carried out interviews with all members of the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team. We also reviewed a significant amount of published material including Annual Audited Financial statements between 31st Dec 2007 and 31st Dec 2011, Draft Financial Statements as at 31st Dec 2012, K-Rep’s mission, vision and values, CBK’s prudential guidelines and best practice corporate governance publications from around the banking world. In addition, we also carried out a written assessment of the Board’s effectiveness via a series of questionnaires and written interviews and submitted our report at a full Board meeting.
Galana Oil recently contracted TCA to conduct a Credit Management and Debt Recovery programme for approximately 27 participants ranging from senior management to junior staff. The participants were drawn from different departments including Finance, Sales and Marketing, Administration and Customer Service. The training covered various aspects of credit management and debt recovery including credit appraisal techniques, debt collection strategies, documentation and risk assessment process and legal aspects affecting debt recovery and the process followed in case of bad debts.
Mastermind Tobacco (K) Limited
We recently worked with Mastermind Tobacco (K) to conduct a tax training programme for approximately 17 participants drawn from different business units/companies, all under MTK including management. The training covered various aspects of tax administration, compliance, risk management and dispute resolution.
